The error you are getting is telling you that the filetype of file-name is 'torrent'. This is because when you read in the file using f.read(), the first line is assumed to be a the name of the file and you are only reading the next 7 lines.
The contents of the file after the first line are the OPACITY, RELOAD, PORT, HASH, URI, filename and times you have already read in.
If you instead read in the first line of the file (which you already know is a valid torrent file), then you will read in the rest of the lines.
As an alternative, you can read in all the lines, then process them in a loop, or add a loop for processing the lines.
